Poker Run for charity
The first annual MFA Oil Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 23. All poker run proceeds will be split equally between Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Missouri and University of Missouri Children’s Hospital.
There will be four routes to choose from, with starting points in Columbia, Jefferson City, Sedalia and Lake Ozark. All routes are approximately 100 miles and include seven stops, with a live auction and announcement of winners following lunch at Memorial Park in Jefferson City. Lunch starts at noon.
Grab your motorcycle, rev up your sports car or load up your minivan. A trip for two to the Daytona 500 or other prizes will be awarded.
Individual entries, which includes lunch are $20 before July 15 or $30 after. Multiple hands may be purchased. You must be 18 or older to register.
A $5 entry fee for lunch only will be offered. Available for purchase on event day only.

Event packets may be picked up at the starting locations from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. All participants are encouraged to be finished and at Memorial Park in Jefferson City by noon for lunch. Live auction starts at 1 p.m. Winners will be announced immediately following.
The Lake of the Ozarks route starts at H. Toad's. Maps for each route are available online. Prizes will be given for first, second and third place for each route, a grand prize winner as well as worst hand, fullest family vehicle, sportiest sports car, and most magnificent motorcycle.
The Ronald McDonald House acts as a home-away-from-home for hundreds of families of hospitalized children who travel great distances to seek specialized medical treatment. Every year, the University of Missouri Children's Hospital specialists treat thousands of children, from those just entering the world at our Family Birth Center to those battling life-threatening illnesses.
