Midwest Wine & Brew Fest
The Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the return of the annual Wine Festival with a new twist – micro-breweries! This much anticipated annual event will take place August 6 from 2-6 p.m. at the Country Club Hotel & Spa in Lake Ozark.
“This is such a popular event and now with its home at the Country Club Hotel we have abundant room to grow and expand the event,” shares Michelle Cook, Director of Marketing for Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. “It seemed like a natural pairing to add micro-breweries in addition to the various wineries and restaurants that will be on hand offering samples. This addition will add appeal to another type of connoisseur in addition to the many wine lovers who attend annually. You would be amazed at the number of micro-breweries and wineries in the Midwest region and we love bringing them all together in a central location so everyone can experience them regardless of where they are located,” Cook added.
Traditionally more than a dozen wineries have participated in the event and hopes are that around the same number of micro-breweries will participate so attendees will have plenty of options to sample from as they enjoy tasting and learning about the various options. Tastings will be offered from their range of vintages & varieties and have their representatives on hand to explain the variations and nuances as well as what might satisfy your taste buds. The ambience of Country Club along with the soothing sounds of acoustic music will lend to a very relaxed tasting experience. Light fare will be available to cleanse your palette between tastings from various Lake Area restaurants and eateries. In addition select vendors will be on hand to enhance the experience by being able to shop for jewelry, wine & beer novelties, cooking items and more!
To date confirmed booths include: Summit Lake Winery, St. James Winery, Peaceful Bend Vineyards, Wenwood Farm Winery, Seven Springs Winery, Bommarito Estate Winery, Serenity Valley Winery, Indian Creek Winery, Missouri Eagle, Michael’s Steak Chalet and The Vine.
Admission is $15 per person which includes tastings from all of the booths and a commissioned souvenir wine glass. Wine is available for purchase by the bottle or case. Hotel packages are also available beginning at $89.
