On a whim, Doug and Lilliana Meyer decided to move to Lake of the Ozarks and open a waterfront bed and breakfast. While Doug spent time growing up at the Lake, he never really returned after joining the Marine Corps. That all changed on a drive through Missouri a few years ago.

A small resort with a big impact

There is a place on the 10-mile marker called Passion Point. The concrete pad overlooking the Lake is well known as a place families gather for cookouts and a great place to watch fireworks displays on holiday weekends. But to Lindy and Weldon, it has more meaning. The couple was married on the point in October 1998, just months after purchasing Dogwood Acres.

A victorian vacation

Built in 1877, the Hilty Inn is a Versailles landmark. It was turned into a bed and breakfast more than a decade ago.
